Lydia Olagunju recently graduated with a PhD in Applied Science and Technology with concentration in Bioscience from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Greensboro, USA. She obtained Master of Science in Dairy Science from South Dakota State University, Brookings, USA, and Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition in Nigeria. She has previously worked as graduate teaching and research assistant, extension officer and subject matter specialist in livestock. She enjoyed team work and collaboration on frontier global challenges with research focus area on natural feed additives as alternatives to antibiotics, recycling of agricultural waste as value-added products, and the use of mushroom products in livestock production. She has received a couple of awards including Australia Awards Africa, Hubert H. Humphery and CHFP Honoree. She is a member of American Dairy Science Association, American Society of Animal Science, Honor Society of Agriculture Gamma Sigma Delta and Inter-institutional Network for Food, Agriculture and Sustainability. She is committed to public service, engaged in various activities as volunteer and actively involved at NC Second Harvest Food Bank Community programs.
