Anlly Fresno Rueda, Graduate Research Assistant, PhD Student, South Dakota State University
Anlly Fresno is originally from Colombia. In 2018, She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the National University of Colombia. Same year, she moved to South Dakota to pursue her Master’s degree, which she completed in the summer of 2021. During her Master’s at SDSU, She characterized the rumen and hindgut bacterial communities of bison heifers fed two different diets (Grass-based and Grain-based). She also evaluated the effect of Essensial oils and a phytobiotic product on the gut bacterial communities of neonatal calves (Today's presentation) and post-weaned piglets respectively. Anlly is currently working on her doctoral degree at South Dakota State University, where she is studying the metabolic capabilities of bacterial communities from bison fed poor quality versus good quality grasses to evaluate the impact that these bacterial communities could have on gut health and animal performance.
