My name is Robyn Joubert, and I am currently the marketing manager at Chemuniqué (Pty) Ltd, as well as being in the process of completing my PhD studies in animal science at the University of Pretoria. I have worked in the agricultural industry for 15 years, first at Taurus Stock Improvement Cooperative and then as editor of The Dairy Mail, an agricultural magazine produced by the Milk Producers’ Organisation (MPO) for the South African dairy industry. A few years ago, I became involved in the Dairy Genomic Programme (DGP), a project funded by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), aimed at developing genomics in the South African dairy industry. Through my involvement in this project, I rediscovered my love for research and enrolled for my PhD degree in animal breeding at the University of Pretoria. I am registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as a professional animal scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat. 400278/13) and am also an active member of the South African Society for Animal Science (SASAS), the Southern Africa Freelancers’ Association (SAFREA), and Agricultural Writers SA.
