Jessica Petersen is an associate professor of Animal Functional Genomics at the Unviersity of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has been involved with the equine Functional Annotation of Animal Genomes (FAANG) project since 2016. Her research team focuses on understanding genome regulation and in the identification of functional variation associated with performance and health traits of horses and cattle. Dr. Petersen is also involved in studies of population diversity with implications to the management of domestic breeds.
