Thiago Bernardes is originally from Brazil where he earned his B.S. in Animal Science. Immediately after the completion of his B.S. Degree, Thiago joined the University of São Paulo State for an M.S. and PhD in ruminant production. After the completion of his Ph.D., Thiago joined the University of São Paulo as a Post-doctoral Research Associate. From 2014 to 2015, Thiago was an Assistant Research at the University of Florida. Thiago joined the University of Lavras in June of 2010.
His research and extension interests are applied ruminant nutrition and management. His program is focused on understanding and improving grain and forage preservation, beef cattle nutrition, and the use of alternative by-products as feed ingredients.
