Postdoctoral Researcher
University of Saskatchewan, Canada
I have completed my BSc. (2005-2009), MSc (2009-2011) and PhD (2011-2015) in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidade Federal de Vicosa, Brazil. I have worked with urinary excretion of purine derivatives and requirements of protein for beef cattle. My PhD project was the first study performed in Brazil using stable isotopes to evaluate urea recycling in cattle. This experiment gave me the opportunity to increase my knowledge of protein metabolism working with Dr. Daniel Ouellet at the Sherbrooke Research and Development Centre (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada-AAFC). Current, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) under supervision of Dr. Peiqiang Yu and Dr. Greg Penner. My main duties in this position are to run projects related to Feed Science, Ruminant Nutrition and Molecular Spectroscopy as well as to assist undergraduate and graduate students with their projects, proposals and thesis writing.
